The man responsible for the great badminton success at King Arthurs School, Wincanton has retired after 28 years.  Dave Dwyer (also  an ex Chairman of Somerset Schools BA) has organised and encouraged badminton players at the school for the past ten years, which has led to incredible success from one of the smallest schools in Somerset.

In that time, the school team has finished both 2nd and 3rd in the country at the National Schools Championships, have been South West Team Champions on 3 occasions, and been Somerset Champions in at least one age group every year.

Individual achievments from school players include - 1 England player, 2 x Somerset Senior Singles Champions, 3 x South West Junior Champions, 19 different Somerset Junior Champions, 9 players appeared for Somerset Senior Teams, and 35 players for Somerset Junior teams.

A reunion of old players was held on weds 17th July to celebrate the occasion.

Thank You Dave for all your hard work, and good luck in your retirement.
