Subject: Badminton coaching

Hi,

I used to play lots of badminton and was a fair player. I've recently started playing again after about 10 years and after a few months, am really struggling to get any consistency in my shots. Perhaps 30% go where they're supposed to! My assumption/hope is that my game is built on bad habits which can be rectified with some coaching. Does anybody know of any badminton coaches in the Glastonbury/Shepton Mallet area?

Thanks

If you are on FaceBook feel free to join the I Play Badminton in Somerset page and ask questions.
If you want to look as some good videos feel free to look at those of Lee Jae Bok.
Have you been playing with friends or in a club? You can get some help at the Shepton Mallet No Strings sessions. Fridays I think.
If you send a message through the feedback page we might be able to give you more information based on where you are currently playing. There are coaches that work in the area.

Subject: New member?

Hi,

I am an ageing (49) yr old bit on the big side, unfit woman. I am looking for someone to play badminton with. I used to be quite good when I was a young fit lady, and would welcome a chance to start playing again. Is this where I would come or do you know of anywhere else. I live just outside Bridgwater.

Many thanks.

Kaz.

You could start by going to the "I play Badminton in Somerset" page on FB if you have it. Also have a look at the places under "Social and Coaching" under the Senior Badminton section. Try calling any of them before you go along, but these are all places for social players. Usually easiest to go to find a social group of players where you might find people interested in playing in between sessions. The No Strings will have someone looking after them on the night. This is the end of the main season so not sure which keep playing over the Summer - hence call before going.
If you have any problems or questions feel free to ping a message through the Feedback page and I can try to answer any questions.
